Does Nano Banana 2.1 Add a Watermark?
Last updated: October 7, 2026
No visible watermark: images you generate with Nano Banana 2.1 on Banana2.1 have no logo, text or corner mark. Like every image from Google's image models, each one carries SynthID, an invisible watermark that identifies it as AI-generated without changing how it looks.
Visible watermark vs SynthID
- Visible watermark: a logo or mark drawn on top of the image. Some apps that offer Nano Banana add one. We do not.
- SynthID: an invisible digital watermark that Google embeds in every generated image. You can't see it, it doesn't affect quality, and Google designed it to stay detectable after common edits such as resizing or compression.
Does Banana2.1 add a watermark?
No. Banana2.1 returns the image exactly as Nano Banana 2.1 produces it — free and paid plans alike — so there is no visible mark to crop out. The only watermark is Google's invisible SynthID, which is part of every Nano Banana 2.1 image no matter where it is generated.
Can SynthID be removed?
We don't offer SynthID removal and don't recommend trying. It is invisible, so it doesn't get in the way of your design, and it is how platforms and detection tools recognize AI-generated images. Many platforms also ask you to label AI content — keeping SynthID intact helps you stay within those rules.
Using watermarked images
SynthID does not limit how you use your images. Under our Terms you can use them for personal and commercial projects — see Nano Banana 2.1 commercial use for what to watch out for.
